I've already googled it but would rather hear from the forum on the best vendor to buy a new recoil assembly from. Being rather new to the AK owner end I'd trust your opinion over mine or a random pick of a vendor. I did carry an AK occasionally in Vietnam but never really broke it down to clean/oil. They were so plentiful over there that we had a modest collection of them. THANKS for your directions on the vendor.

Thank you both VERY much for the kind words and information. Getting shot by a 7.62 round has caused me to undergo five surgeries throughout the years, but at least I'm alive. My second team leader, and best friend, wasn't so lucky. Thank God for our radio man, and the three Yards that were with us, as they held them off until the bird arrived. The bird followed "puff," who pretty much cleared them all out. It's taken all of these years to bring myself to want an AK, but after all, it's just a tool.
