Did the Russians ever experiment with AK74 underfolders before they went to the sidefolder?  None of my reference books talk about that.

Here is a link that showes all the AK type rifles plus all of the experimental rifles. This is a link that showes a 5.45 short barrel experimental AK with an underfold type stock that folds up and over the receiver cover.
