I have a polyteck ak in 223 and need mags for it. What are my options. I prefer the 30 rounders.

If you haven't been able to find any Polytech mags(expect to pay about $75 each if you do), you can modify a Bulgarian 5.56 waffle to work without a lot of difficulty. You will need to remove a small amount of material from the lower surface of the front lug on the mag and remove the 45 degree bevel on top of the lug. You may also have to modify the rear lug. Use a good file and go slowly, constantly checking the fit. I have had better reliability with the Bulgy waffles than I have with the original Polytech mags. the .223 Polytech mags are notorious for being unreliable. which is a shame given the quality of the rest of the gun.
