Is there a substitute I can use for the piston pin? I don't have 1 & need one to complete the reattachment of the piston to my bolt carrier. I know I can order one but I have Friday off & would like to shoot.
I was thinking maybe a roll pin for a AR15's trigger guard? Or something I can buy in HD or lowes?

I used a AR15 roll pin, Hammed it down & ground the edges flat. I think it will work. I don't see it going anywhere.

Since the pin is under no stress, a common nail works very well.
It rivets easily and holds perfectly.

I've also used a nail on a number of pistons with out any issues.

+1 for the nail, cheap, easy to find, easy to hammer flat, takes blue the same as the rest of the steel.
It is a no brainier for me!
