I just got my PTG headspace gauges from Midway. I decided to test them on my SAR. With the extractor pawl and firing pin on the bolt, they indicate that the hs is correct. When I remove them, the bolt won't close on the "GO" gauge. Any suggestions? I'm going to write to Midway and PTG as well. Thanks

Take your FP and extractor out of your bolt to eliminate that variable. You really don't even need the go guage. Try several types of ammo, what you will shoot is best. if it closes on a loaded round, all of them, you are good on that end of the spectrum. Now take the no-go. The bolt should not close, if it does, read other threads pertaining to why. Before testing HS, make double sure your chamber and bolt face are spotlessly clean. Don't worry about it not closing on a go, that occurance is very common and has been dealt with here abundantly.
