Any listing of good quality Gunsmiths would be appreciated.

I want mine

I have tried looking at the on-line directions but it seems to be over my head a bit.

Hello,
I follow it all until about step 7
www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/Step_7.htm

I have trouble understanding the reassemly of the new Trigger Group.
Along with the disconnector spring.
It all gets very confusing for me.

Is this the directions you used, or is there better directions for that portion

It is easy to do yourself. The trigger group is realy just being installed not converted after you have pulled everything out. I used the Tapco trigger and the bar they sell that replaces the spring.

Well Thanks for the Info.
The Tapko Trigger Group doesnt require me to pull out that tiny spring and re-install it?

That was the trickiest part i though.

THe only other worry is the military trigger hole.  I hope Mine is there.
anyways..
I might go ahead and get into this mess.

I will likely show off my results.

What parts do i need to buy then.

Is the Tapco Trigger Group
AK G2 Double Hook Trigger Group?

Will that work for what you are saying.

DO I have to replace the trigger group?

What is the difference between a Double & Single Trigger Group?

Tapco sells both double or single I believe. The Saigas I have seen have been single hook.

Do it yourself, you'll be proud when youre done.

The saigas are single hook, and yu MUST replace the trigger group, not only for 922r compliance, but because the stock trigger group isn't a standard ak trigger group.

Here's mine

I have been delaying doing my conversion.  I used to read about modifying the new USA made hammer that goes in.  I still worry about how to do that.  Maybe this work can be avoided if you buy the correct parts now.

I didn't have to modify the hammer at all, on either of the 2 conversions  i've done. the only thing i had to do was take the disconnector spring out of the stock FCG and plop it into the new one.

Tony Rumore at Tromix did my Saiga 12.  It ended up looking just like the one in the picture, except with a really nasty flash suppressor (the suppressor's a weapon in itself).  He did a lot better job than I could have done.
