I have a pair of these somewhere but have never tried them because I always forget...Anybody have any experience?

Also anywhere to get them cheap? I saw that the Army was paying $3 a pair..

Yes, I wore one in my right year in Iraq after not being to hear out of the ear from a AT-4.  They work very well, you can hear fine with the yellow side in and they add enough attenuation when firing that your ears won't ring afterwards.

Brigade has them but they probably aren't cheap there.

Customer service is great.

Perhaps somebody at a big base could see if they sell them at the PX?

I've got a set of single-sided plug with a cord between them that come in a little plastic case with a key ring. They look exactly like those and work very well. I'm sure they're cheap, we've got a metric buttload of them at work, that's where I get them.

They work great, it really quiets the rifle fire but still allows you to hear the little things, like casings hitting the ground and the wind in the leaves and stuff.

They're made by a company called 'E.A.R.'

The combat arms ear plug is made by Aearo Corp and also sold as their "indoor/outdoor earplug."  I cannot remember how much a pair they are, but it wasn't much more than 2.50 without a case to get them from the system.

Natchez sells plugs identical or very similar for the same price.  Olive drab/yellow.  I bought a pair to try out for hunting.  Don't buy the pink ones that Cabelas sells, very uncomfortable.
