My SAR-2 does the same thing.  Not sure what to do about it just yet.

I don't bump my SAR-2 and it still does it.  In fact I don't grip that part of the handguard much at all or I couldn't see down my sights.

Center it up and tap the corners of the flange in a bit to keep them there.

Take the handguard off and cut a 1/8" wide by 1" long strip from a coke can. Lay a strip on each of the wood tangs of the handguard that goes under the metal retainers and twist the handguard into place. Two may be needed to get a real tight fit or a strip may be needed that is thicker so cut one from a steel can.
