looks good although I'm pretty sure the original were stamped/roll marked so you'll need to find a way to make deeper engravings in order to make it more authentic.

This is just an observation, but if you mark an already marked receiver, then that would be considered re-manufacturing the receiver with whoever’s companies name that you added.

For example, if you have a "Armory" receiver and you mark it with the Zastava name, logo and address, then you're indicating to the authorities that the receiver was either (A) originally manufactured by Zastava and Armory imported the receiver in, or (B) the Receiver was made by Armory and exported/sold to Zastava, making the authorities wonder why it's still in the country.

Remember, the 4473 yellow form (now white) request information like "the manufacturer and/or import" of the weapon. So if you sold it and a dealer puts it in his book as a Zastava made gun, the authorities can come back to you for remanufacturing a gun, with a false company and they can also nail you for manufacturing a weapon without paying federal excise tax.

In the totally opposite side of the spectrum, if the rear sight tower was marked with those markings, then you're not modifying the receiver.

To be on the safe side, do what the Yugos do, mark the sight tower.

That's my two-cent worth.

I did not realize that you could do that. By all means if you want to mark it on the receiver, go for it. I don't think it is something that I would need to have done though. Just my personal thoughts.

Who am I, I'm a type 07, 10 and 11 manufacturer, importer and dealer.

I didn't mean to start a debate, but I've been down that road before. I was told by one of the many Firearm Experts (if that's what you call them) in the Tech Branch, and I was told that the modification was not legal and I should not attempt the modification, unless I want to re-manufacture under my company name.

Because of what I was told, i will honor in what they recommend. If I fail to do so, I may have a knock at my door. So, I'm playing it safe. If you want to go a different coarse, then I wish you luck.

Who am I? I am a Federal Firearms License holder who engraves firearms. I talk regularly with both the BATFE tech branch and TTB (Tax & Trade Bureau). The tech branch governs the marking issues and the TTB governs FET issues.

I am not trying to flame you, just keep the regulations straight. I am glad people speak up, it is a way we all can learn and understand. Please let me know if you have more questions or observations, especially on the FET. I like to think my hours on the phone and to the TTB and reading those dry regs help in some way

What about adding the serial number from my PMKMS parts kit onto my Global Trades/ Akron Armory Receiver before I have it built into a rifle and refinish it?

I like it..

You should get  Saiga receiver and start copying the Russian markings from it..
