Probably just overvealous LEO's attempting to make their career at NorthRidge's expense. It reminds of the episode a few years back when the LAPD arrested 3 or 4 Guys who owned several Assault weapons and ammo,it looked really bad on the news but in the end EVERYTHING they had was completely legal.

Yeah, and how are those parts they found illegal?

We all know the police don't know anything about firearms laws.  We may actually have to place our faith in the BATF (I know) to actually make a fair assesment.

You can just see those police stumbling into a gun shop "Oh my god! there's guns everywhere! call for backup!"

Just what exactly is a gun unit? Is an Uzi really an assault RIFLE? What is a MILITARY-STYLE rifle? Militarys across the world use nearly every style weapon. Does that make every weapon a military-style weapon? If it is a military style weapon, can a civilian not have it? This kind of government action is truly frightening. I am really interested in finding out what a gun unit is.

Go to the below listed link which describes one of their more noteable busts and explains what the LAPD Gun Unit and the LA city attorneys' Gun Prosecution Task Force are.

www.crpa.org/pressrls101802.html

Northridge International was raided Thursday morning but reopened again Saturday 1 Nov. for regular business.  No arrests were made.
The link that CampyBob posted is what led to the raid.  In a nutshell though, the subject, a former employee had been stealing from the company for a number of years.  Some local low lifes had been breaking into his storage containers and were caught in a routine traffic stop with some dummy UZI smg's which the PD thought where real which led to the stolen property which led to Northridge.  That pretty much sums everything up.

...meanwhile another business comes out of this with a tarnished image thanks to the pussy media and pussy police who will no doubt play down this story since they didn't make the big bust they were hoping for. Way to come back and make things clear for joe public. Then again, we're talking about Kalifornia here. My advice, move your business to a state where your welcome and supported.

I don't think it really matters which state in which you live. The stupid city kop is alive and well everywhere.I have been told by city kops so many times that"machine guns are illegal"that I am beginning to wonder if there is not somthing in floridated water that makes you into a stupid hillybilly.Everytime I hear that the basic requirements for a police officers job are being lowered, again,I shudder. Why even give kops a test at all. That"I know everything"and that "you aint a kop so you are a dope dealer, milita man, terrorist, because you have machineguns"bullshit gets stale.

First of all dinkydow, Not all police officers are stupid. I've been a police officer for nearly ten years and I think you are being really broad with your statements. Basically what you are saying sounds childish. Maybe the police officer isn't a gun guy like we are. Maybethey don't know the laws on machine-guns.

All of this was developed because of an ex-employee of Northridge that was stealing them blind.

On a final note who would you call for help? The local crack dealer?

Police do that everywhere... they've been raiding places all accross the country over the last year.

They make the big nightly news PR event, and then nothing comes of it.

As long as guns are something that can be illegal, the police will be doing these raids and undermining the second ammendment in the process.  And a lot of pro-2A police will go along with it thinking that enforcing the law is moral, even if the law is immoral (and even if there is no law being broken.)

Edited to withdraw comments.

Americans love the police state, hate the thought of being without it, and are unwilling to even contemplate the society the constitution gave us, let alone work to bring it about.

I erred in trying to bring it up in the first place.  Sorry.

No police and no standing Army? Ha! How do you expect to protect your ass? You expect an unpaid militia to know how to operate a tank, fly a helicopter and so on? Or provide their own?

No police? Yeah, I want to have to walk the streets in body armor carrying a gun all the time. There are places that have little to no police. Some of them are called Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afganistan.

Having been to allot of different places in the world, I can say that the police in the US are the best in the world. Other police forces take bribes, protect the criminals, or abuse their powers (not just getting over zealous)by raping and stealing from the locals.

And, having a Govt that has power is good for us in most ways. You want every special intrest group staging a revolution every few years? A stable govt has made your life what it is today. If you want a Govt with no power that the people can revolt against whenever, go to Africa.

Socialism is winning because people who think of themselves as anti-socialists are advocating it.  This is the fabian strategy.

Before you say that America is a police state, or socialist I suggest you travel the world and see how others live. You dont know how lucky you are.

Yes, in an ideal world it would be nice not to have a police force or a standing Army. But, the world and America has problems. Normal problems that have plauged man since the dawn of time.

No police force? Who is going to take care of the drug dealers, bank robbers, killers, rapists and so on? A lynch mob?

No Army? Who is preventing another nation from invading? The local twinkie eating Militia armed with SKSs? Yeah, ok. You can have all the AKs you want but it wont stop a T-80 Tank from rolling thru your house or having napalm
dropped on your house.

No Gov't? Who is going to pay for stuff like the police and military, build roads, lobby with other nations, and so on? The local "Warlord"?

All cops are pulling this stuff

Gotta disagree. Here in AZ, if you get pulled over by the Maricopa or Yavapai County Sherrif and the discussion turns to weaponry, the most likely confrontation you're going to have is an argument over the relative effectiveness of the 185 gr. vs. the 230 gr. .45 ACP rounds.

The majority of cops are good and some cops are bad. Even worse are the dipshit rookies with something to prove, I know this from experience. "Oh sir you were doing 5 miles over, try and slow down. You know it's 3 o'clock in the morning and all this traffic thats on the road. Maybe this ticket will help you remember". Well since I wasn't drunk, which was his real reason for pulling me over, I guess he thought I might as well get a speeding ticket so he wouldn't look stupid. How pathetic.

Ok, back on topic,

I talked to them today. I was a concerned becasue I had placed a phone order with them last week. They said they are open for business and are shipping two days a week instead of 5. No explaination was given.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Stottman-- I have travelled the world and seen many other countries, countries more free and capitalist than us, and countries less free and capitalist.

You are advocating socialism without even realizing it.  You think "drug dealers" are something to be taken care of.  You stand in opposition to the constitution.

You don't have to leave the country to read that document, and I suggest you do, and that you pay very careful attention to what it says.  Note that it does not give the federal government the power to provide for national defense, instead giving that to the people.  Note that under the constitution drug laws are unconstitutional and asset forfieture is directly unconstitutional-- and yet we have both of those things, and I cannot imagine-- though I might be wrong-- that police men can say "but this law is unconstitutional, I won't enforce it" and still keep their job.

You are afraid of living without the tyranny of the government safety net and so you project falsehoods as if they are the only alternative.  But they are not.

Contrary to what you insist, capitalism is good.  Liberty is good.  They work.  We do not need the government to take care of us from cradle to grave-- whether its perscription drugs, retirement savings, regulated minimum wages or mimimal police protection.

What happens when two people get in an accident and the police arent' there?  do they go at it with fists, tire-irons and guns?  Or do they exchange insurance information and then participate in arbitration?

According to you, without the police, they must go at it with tire irons-- but thousands of times a year in every city, they enter int arbitration using their insurance comapny.

If you think I'm expressing something contrary to the constitution, please bring it up in those terms.  I point out that the constitution gives very limited powers to the federal government, and reserves the rest for us.

Your "love it or leave it" attitude makes me think you haven't been outside this country.
