I put a Rommie side folder on a pre-ban Chinese stamped receiver rifle way back in the dark days of the AWB.

It worked fine.  I needed to take a little bit off the sides of the stock where it went into the rear trunnion because Chinese rifles use narrower trunions.

The rear screw holes lined up perfectly, but the front one, under the dustcover, did not.  No help for that.

Because I had to fit the stock to the rifle (it was VERY easy and didn't take long) it was a very snug fit, and I had ZERO problems with the stock being loose or wobbling even though it was held in with the one screw.

That's what I'd personally do.

The Tapco stuff isn't called "Trashco" or "Crapco" for no reason.

Those are underfolders and would require EXTENSIVE and permanent modification of the receiver.
