I would check your locking mech. and degrease it and reoil to see if it improves your lockup.

It seems that the shaft that holds it in the gun moves just a CH and throws the pins to lock off from matching with the holes

I was hopeing this was not the case you may have yourself a underfolder conversion as it started life as a fix stocked rifle and someone may have really butchered this transformation. What history or markings do you have on this rifle importer? and so on? so we can better figure what may be the issue then.

It's a Norinco Impoted by lebanu AK47 sporter 56-1. The gun is like brand new it supposedly has been sitting in his safe for the last 10yrs. The only reason I grabbed it was cause I thought that wasn't that big of a deal and that I could fix it. It locks up real tight once if finally does lock up. I hope there is a easy fix.

I'm thinking of trying to file the very ends of the locking pins on a angle.... Any thoughts on this?

Video of it opening and closing looking down with the top cover and recoil spring removed would help tremendously in trouble shooting the issue.

I have a feeling the nut is real tight. It will work itself in. The issue with underfolders is the end up loosening up after some use. Better to have a tight one that is hard to lock up than a loose one that flops everywhere. Also, a tad bit of play is normal.

You have hit the nail on the head here. I will wait to see what we can see from pics or video of you operating the locking mech. O.P. please wait on the filing part as this should not be needed to make it work.
