Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Norinco 223 barrel diameter

I was wondering if anyone knew what the barrel diameter is for the Norinco 223 models (is it the same as an AK-74?). I am looking at buying one of the MAK versions and converting it to an AK-102, so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Chinese 7.62 and 5.56 rifles have barrels that are 19mm at the chamber and are larger in diameter than the AK-74 every where else.

The Chinese kept the same exterior barrel dimensions on the .223 rifle as the 7.62x39 rifles.

Thanks guys, that answers that question, as I won't be any further ahead trying to use the Norinco .223 in this project.
