I am an AR15 guy and I'm thinking about getting an AK.  I'm wondering if the Arsenal USA/Global Trades SSR-85C-2 is a quality gun?  Also, what's the difference between milled and stamped receivers?  I would get a VEPR, but noone seems to have them.

Question #1- Yes

Question #2- Milled are about a pound heavier than stamped and cost more.

Statement #3- Good choice.

I personally don't see the need for a milled reciever, in my mind it only adds weight. It will never make a difference in durability; a well made rifle with a stamped reciever will likely out live you. I would check out Arsenal of Nevada as well (not to be confused with Arsenal USA which is a different company). Arsenal makes questionably the best AKs out there, most people on this board are very pleased with their products. Good luck man....
