On shelves now? I hope so. Does anyone know if it's a magazine or an actual book? |
It's a mag and not a book. I have one in my stickey little hands right now... Has a WASR10 on the red star cover.
NO it's at the store.
I looked and its not on line any where yet. |
What articles are in it?
I check G&A's website... not for sale there yet. |
Lots of them. 136 pages.
ammo accurizing accessories What the experts say. The troops speak out. Kalashnikov the real story. From cold war to Iraq. chinese AK factory visit. ect ect. |
They have the AN94 that is going to replace the AK-47.
SLR-106U SLR-107UR |

It's worth it good mag !!! |
You could at least take a picture of the cover
Just think about it, the whole AK lifestyle from building to target practice to collecting, right next to hunting and fishing and sport bikes. It could happen |
this was my baby I pushed my company into making happen!
Hell...I haven't even seen the finished product yet!! It has a number of articles written by people never published before, so not the same ol same ol. Includes feed back from combat vets of Iraq and Afghanistan, historical stuff, users info and a lot more. Lot of hard work went into that issue, we did the whole thing in about 30 days flat........ If it sells well it will become an annual..... feed back, both good and bad is welcome as long as it's constructive....... |
I had no idea about this initially, but when I was at the supermarket in the magazine isle and had to get it. lol
I was just wondering about the AN-94. It's hard to believe that thing has been kicking around for 15 years now. Should be an interesting article.
I've always got my eyes peeled looking for it when I am in Russia, but I've yet to spy one. We were in Moscow last summer and I saw a lot of pretty high-tech looking weapons, but no Nikonov. I try to keep abreast of these things, but a lot of the stuff I saw, I couldn't identify at all. Not surprisingly, most of them seem to incorporate some Kalashnikov elements though. Anyway, got to run down to the supermarket... |
You can't subscribe, it's what we call a Special Interest Publication
A one time deal, unless it sells really well and becomes an annual........ |
Thanks Gunwritr for getting this together I'll be looking for this tommorow. Will they have them at Wal-Mart by any chance?
this should be available at not only Wal-Mart but internationally as well.....it should be available at the PX.....
on another note, we have shot the next season of Guns&Ammo TV and are going to have some pretty interesting segments in the Classic tests....... weapons covered will include AKM/Type 56 AK-74 PSL VZ 58 Galil MAS 49/56 Sharpshooter Mosin-Nagant PE sniper Makarov TT-33/Type 54 Thompson MP-40 M60 and others..... (even got my Deuce in a few of them as a back drop and you sharp eyed ammo guys will notice a table made out of 7N1 sniper ammo crates....) |

Was at the store last night and didn't see it.
Guess I'll try again in the morning. |
I went to Lowes Foods and did not see it so I'll swing by Walmart tonight and probably pick up a few copies.

I checked Thursday night at Haistings and Books A Million, no luck. I'll check Walmart. Name some stores you guys are finding it at.
I did the same at Hastings and Wal Mart, but had no luck. I'll have to keep looking too.
ETA- Tried Borders yesterday and couldn't find it there either. I'll try Barnes and Noble sometime today hopefully. |

I picked one up last night, and you did a good job gunwriter, it is well above average from normal Guns & Ammo fare. It is selling like hot cakes around here and I had a hard time finding a copy in Green Bay WI. So I'm quite sure there will be another issue...there is alot in the AK world to cover yet, such as the Galil...and the interesting history of Valmet AK's...heres another idea;what kind of quality exists in the "Kyber Pass" indigineous manufactured AK's from Pakistan? A test fire by someone in Afghanistan might be interesting. What does the Finnish Defense Force think of their newly aquired Chinese AK's? Plus there are other "classic" articles from G&A from years past that were pretty good...some of those also might be resurrected. How many AK-type semi-autos have been sold to the public since the election? I am also a published writer, mainly an out door writer, and from a pure "literary" point of view...it is also above average for a gun rag.

They have the AN94 that is going to replace the AK-47. SLR-106U SLR-107UR Its not going to replace the AK, infact the AN94 has been in the Russian military since the mid 90s, and the AK74 is still the standard issue rifle. I believe its only being used by special units such as spetznaz and their KBG(its still the KGB even if the name has changed) Nothing will replace the AK. atleast not anytime soon. |
Arrrghh.... I thought this was a New AMMO magazine (PMAGish)..
Checked three places around here with no luck. Living in BFE sucks!
Can anyone send me a copy? If so, PM me. |
I'll be in the Dallas Metroplex, next week, so a trip to Barnes & Nobles (we don't have one), it is. I hope they have some left by the time I get there on Tuesday.

Thanks for helping to make this happen. I snagged the last copy at my local Hastings last night. Only typo I've noticed is the two pictures, each with three AKs, on pages 29 and 30 were swapped. The text with the pic on page 29 belongs with the pic on page 30 and vice versa. Great mag with lots of eyecandy!! Once again, thanks!! ARKAR |
