I purchased an AR style birdcage from AIM that is made for the AK, but I never put it on because of having to grind the weld down to get the muzzle nut off.

14 x 1 left hand pitch, if I understand correctly what you're asking. There's all kinds of options for brakes. (sp) I like the jtac47, but the 74-type brakes seem to be really popular too, I've never tried one.

Is 14x1 the normal for all ak muzzle breaks?? It goes it is just very tight and I dont want to cross thread it. Thanks Keith.

Surprised noone answered your above question about thread pitch, so BUMP.
I think 14 x 1 left hand is most common, but some varieties may be 28 or something....? I know I've seen adapters. Or did you get it resolved? |

14x1L is standard for AK-47's, AKM's, and the Polish Tantal AK-74. 24mm is standard for all other AK-74's except for the Romanian AK-74, which is 22mm. There is a WHOLE LOT to choose from in the 14x1L pitch.
