Took these badboys out this mourning, I put 300 rds through each, both ran like a Swiss watch. I built the AK and the FAL is a century build that i hooked up. I zeroed in both today and was consistantly hitting a 10x10 steel target at 150 yards (prone position). Shot wolf out of the AK and SA out of the FAL. Lets see your two favorite rifles. McM

JOHNO, is that AKS-74 an "N" model with an optics rail or did you leave it a slab side?

Beautiful, BTW.

Thekatar, the AKS74 started life as an SLR105 ban model, without the rail,I had Troy do the buttstock conversion, install the FSB,do the Cryllic lettering and refinish the rifle.I spent a couple weeks working on the Laminated wood.I was apprehensive about changing over from Plumb but I'm extremely happy with the results.

Its a Imbel metric receiver, although its marked R1A1, its just a hodge podge of parts really, it took some tweaking to get it to run right, but now it runs like no other. I need to put some nicer furniture on it and repark the gun and gunkote it, i'm just too wrapped up into the AK's right now to be playing with it.  Joe

I don't really have a favorite.  Probably one of the ones I have sold.  They become your favorite when you no longer have them. I had a couple of SLR-100H's and one of them was my favorite AK but someone just had to have it and was willing to pay a price I couldn't refuse. Here are a couple I like.  Mostly I like buying them and working on them.  Some of the AR-15's I have built or rebuilt are probably the ones I like most as I built them from a pile of parts or took one I bought used and totally rebuilt it.

I like that SVT40 in the center of Pat's collection.

At least I'm relatively sure that's what it is...
