I got her yesterday. Cosmoline all over - here and there, so I need to clean her up a bit before I send some rounds down range.

Very cool. How does it feel? The only time I've ever handled a WASR, it felt pretty chinsey. Which bugs me even more now that I really want to get a cheap 5.45 AK

I doesn't feel chinsey to me, but that doesn't mean anything because it is the first AK I've ever held before. I WAS an AR15 guy through and through, but I cannot afford the ammo anymore, so I figured I'd try an AK because of the cost, or lack there of, of the ammo. I got mine in 5.45 x 39mm because it seems to me that it is slightlly cheaper per 1000 than the 7.62 x 39mm. I hope to shoot the thing soon. I have to clean it first though, and tonight is my daughter's prom night, so that kills most of this weekend.  |

Is that a G2 trigger on it?
Finally took my SAR-2 out to the range today. Man, what a blast!! More accurate than the WASR-10 I had. Plus, I was able to bump fire a few mags too. Mine has a G2 trigger on it. Never bump fired before. Talk about fun. I only limited myself to 3 mags though.

Not sure what a G2 trigger is, but it is a Topco. I know that because it is stamped on the side.

Looks alot like mine when I got it. These are great Ak's. Don't be fooled, All AK's are built like can openers. They all work well. Congrats on the rifle. I made a few changes to mine.

You have a Tapco G2 trigger. Don't have to worry about trigger slap. |

Great guns. well. my first one was not, but the replacement is! I shot mine last week for the first time and it is my new favorite plinker. Ammo and mags are cheap and I got a PK AS red dot that is pretty cool. I shot it so much that I got a blister on my finger from the hand guard getting hot. Cheap, fun, easy to clean.
