Too bad they didn't have cool guys with cool rifles when I was a Scout, I had to learn it all on my own, LOL ...

Templar, that rocks!!! I got my first AK 3 months ago, aVector. I took it and my 11 year old son to the range and let him fire the first rounds out of the gun after a safety class. I can relate to the smile on the faces.

Very nice work. God Bless You!

The local police force did something similar at one of the local scouting events. They brought all the short barrled Wilson combat shotguns and let all the kids take a few shots at human shiluettes. They kids really had a great time.

As a card carrying member of the Elite Paramilitary group, let me just say that is awesome. Thank you! I got my shooting start in scouts and now all these evil guns later I am so thankful for the rifle merit badge. What a great program.

As another member of an elite paramilitary group, lemme thank you for that.
All we ever got to shoot were mossberg .22's no fun stuff like AKs.
You have definetly planted the seed.

wow awesome story...its seriously really good hear things like this going on...when in todays news you just hear about shootings and how bad guns are...its good to EDUCATE people about guns and show them they arnt evil...its the people.

Seriously good story, im very happy to hear this went well and everyone enjoyed it..when the kids go home happy..they have had a impression made on them that hopefully will last the rest of their lives. Priceless

That is great.

Back in the day when I was a scout we had a local Sheriff do much the same thing for us. He even when into some pretty extensive tactical training use of a shotgun. Shortly after he went on to become an instructor at Gunsite. So I guess I got a little free Gunsite training:)

Excellent post!

Not only did you show those young men safe firearms usage, but you've more than likely sparked a small fire in them, which will more than likely spawn a huge raging fire by adulthood. Positive firearms experiences sure beat the hell out of being fearful of them due to lack of exposure to them. Not to mention that it will probably have a ripple effect, with them influencing others in the future. Who knows how many future gunowners' lives were affected by this simple gesture. Thanks.
