On the new WASRs, I see slant breaks and threaded muzzles.  Can you screw them off and reinstall US muzzle devices?  Otherwise, the threaded muzzle is kinda moot...

I can screw mine off.  I have replaced the slant break with a muzzle break.  Don't know if all of the WASR-10s have threaded muzzles though.

Screwed the slant brake off my WASR10 and replaced with a AK74 type flask hider.  Remember it has reverse threads.

My bro's GP WASR-10 had a muzzle nut threaded on and tack welded.  All I did was grind through the weld, take the nut off, and screw on a new 14x1mm LH slant brake.

Both mine have 1/2"X20 R.H. threads which force me to convert standars attatchments by boring out the existing L.H. 14mm threads, sleveing and re-threading to fit the existing muzzle.

Are ya sure they are 1/2x20rh? I believe if ya try a pitch gauge that they should check out as a 1/2x28rh thread. If ya check Global trades website, they've already got a lot of muzzle breaks, US made that are in the "new" 1/2x28 thread. I just did the threads and put a slant break on my WASR 10 in 1/2x28. Better check 'em first.Madtechcool

I have a WASR-10 Century does indeed thread the barrel 1/2-20 RH, which is a bastard size indeed. I marred my slant up badly while removing it, and can not seem to buy a replacement. I bought a birdcage break but it was threaded the AK standard 14mm LH. I drilled it out, and tapped it for a 1/2-20 Helicoil, put the helicoil in, and it worked flawlessly. I have several 1/2 coils left, so I think if I ever want to put a slant back on, I can buy one 14mm, and just put another coil in. So try buying a 1/2-20 helicoil kit. Good Luck!
