Some sort of spring? Most of the parts on the SKS are milled steel (atleast for mine), so I don't think it would be breaking anytime soon.

I did a lot of reading up on SKS's before getting mine. One thing I noticed were NO comments about anything breaking. There were some owner induced problems from improper cleaning of cosmolene or improper reassembly. But that was it. Damn fine little rifle for the money!
I put a lighter hammer and sear spring set in mine and stoned the sear rails and goves to smooth them a bit. Very sweet 6# trigger now. My buddy's SKS that he bought the same I did mine didn't need the rails and grooves stoned! Already smooth. Just lighter springs in his for the same great trigger feel.
We plan to leave them alone now as they just feel so "right".
And when my son pays me back for repairing his truck, I plan to get another SKS for him too.
No household should be without one!

the only thing I have had break on my AK or SKS's is the follower on my Yugo SKS magazine.

adding.. the only effect it has is that the bolt doesnt stay all the way back to load stripper clips.

Most common thing to break on an SKS is the person pulling the trigger.
