How are the milled Mak90's?  Are they as durable as the stamped Mak90 and worth considering?

Also how are the hunter type AK's made by Norinco?  Is it mechanically the same as a Mak90 with the same 1.6mm receiver and having fully compatible/interchangeable parts with the Mak90?

Thanks in advance.

The milled AKs are very stout.

The Norinco Hunter is a clone of the Valmet Hunter.  It is a common conversion base for a Galil Clone.

The Chinese stamped AKs are 1.5mm thick.

Opps missed the question about parts interchangeability....

Most parts yes..  However the following won't work..  trigger, stock sets , sights depending on what type of hunter you have, gas tube, might be some other small stuss, but that is about it.

Thanks Longboat for all the info!

That rules out the Hunter....prefer something fully compatible with the Mak90 even though the Hunter will probably reliably function thru my, my son's and my grandson's lifes.

Hunters are great little carbines.  They are a very Politically Correct AK variant.  Depending on what variant you find, the sight picture is great.
