My experience with the MI Top rail + PA microdot is that you get more of a lower 1/6th co-wit and only when the rear sight is at 300 yds or so.

Great product though, super stable I've put about 300 rounds through mine since I got it and have had zero POI shift just rock solid.

my cai rear sight is zeroed at the rear position, about same height as 300 setting, because the front sight would not move.  I am not a fan of the ak sights but they would work if the optic was dead and that is a better deal then I have now where the aimpoint m2 completely blocks the opens on top of the MI quad rail.

Cowitness with a Fastfire will depend on your stocks comb height. When I had an AR stock with an Ace AR interface folder it had a high comb height. I had to really smoosh my face down into it to cowitness. With a normal cheekweld the dot raised up above the irons for a nice unobstructed view through the optic. Very accurate for close range target acquisitions.

I hate posting youtube links from my phone it usually never works. If not just search for ak47 vs bowling pins

The new top cover we make for the full size Aimpoint will allow you to use you irons at the very bottom.

Troy,
Will the Aimpoint Micro top cover work with the Sig Micro or ITAC micro red dots?

thanks for the help.  The m2 went on my new sig patrol rifle, mainly because the ak is more of a tractor gun/range toy and it needed adiet to lighten up the front end.

The sig sight Looks very similar to the PA MD-06 I am not sure I have never examined one first hand. Do they have a detachable base?
THANK YOU

I have not actually taken it apart, but it does appear to be detachable.  That is what led me to believe it would fit.  I don't know if the holes line up with the holes on your rail.
