No bayonet lugs on these....I talked to Ed Brown of Kengs a few days ago.  Regardless, still a good deal...they are chromed and threaded.

take care,
Tec

Tec-nine is sort correct.. These have no lugs.. But they will accept the type I bayonet.. The Type I bayo latches to the front sight base, and hooks to the gas block..

Already picked up a pre-ban Chicom barrel from Jnewt a month before all the
barrel stuff started. It even has a bayo Lug. Glad i got it when i did.

Used it to complete the conversion of my thumbhole my NHM-90 back to a proper looking Chicom AK.
I'd post a pic, but have no where to host it.

Kengs has chinese barrels for $65, CenterFireSystems has MAK 90 kits w/all parts except receiver, trigger guard and trunnions for $98.

The only hard part is finding 19mm barrel trunnions to build them up with.  The few I've found were all priced over $100 each.  Global Trades used to import Bulgy 19mm conversion trunnions, but not anymore.

Only other option would be to machine and weld on a sleeve to beef up the diamter from 19 to 22 or 23mm.

I don't think I would want to go the MAK-90 kit route.....if so, you would have to use an OOW or Arsenal receiver.....Chinese Receivers are awesome.

Go with the MAK-90, 922r parts, and pre-ban barrel.

Krinkfreak,

How are the Mak90s with you? Are they good rifles? The one in the AK ABCs that was rebarreled sure is a looker. They're all over gunbroker at prices less than 500$ for a thumbhole stock, and I'm pretty sure they can be made 922r compatible with a few parts.

Is there any difference between ChiCom trunnions?  I have the barrel/front trunnion & torch cut reciever stub from a Type 84 5.56 AK (E-bay buy, auction description had it mislabled as 7.62x39).  Norinco 5.56 parts are a bugger to find.

Right on !!

What's the difference between the NHM-90/91 and the Mak-90?

Did they make Maks in milled receivers?

These polytech barrels will fit into an NHM-90 front trunion right?

So does anyone know if the Polytech barrels are the same diameter as the Norinco barrels?

The thing I would be worried about is getting the friggin headspace right. DRilling through the trunion freaks me out a bit. I've got a minty MAK that I'm sure I would screw up trying to headspace.

Am I missing something?

I've been thinking about getting a chinese variant (Probably the only one I don't have yet )

So, Krink...Not all Mak's are created equal are they?  What am I looking for in one?  second, The barell above - does it take a cleaning rod underneath?

Very good ARK!!  I was wondering if someone would catch that.

I haven't put it in yet.  The new barrel was a little off of lining up with the trunnion hole, and i need to recut the barrel groove to make it fit.  It is headspaced fine right now, and all i have to do is reinstall the pin.
That will probably get done this week once it cools down.

I may refinish the wooden grip too. It is a little darker than the rest of the gun.
But I may just live with it as it is.

It looks al hell of alot better than it did when i started out.  It was a Thumbhole, Pipe welded to the muzzle, weaver base attached to the dust cover, 5 shot mag sporter when i got it.

Now it looks respectable at least...

The NHM91 has the long barrel and the bipod.  The red one is a milled MAK90 w/Ironwood stock set...

p.s. the SAIGA-12 19" is in front...

Krinkfreak, what's needed to get one of these barrels installed? I remember you said they took some extra work but i don't remember what.
