Slow movie but tons of gun porn. If you want to see another movie with combloc weapon porn see "the beast" with william baldwin about a Russian tank during the Afghan/Soviet war. It's pretty good and got it in the $5.50 bin at Walfart.

I saw it twice in theatres and once yesterday.

The movie kicks ass. Slow or not. And my attention span is pretty small. So, it had to be good!

Nick "I not Elvis's Son In Law" may be a good actor and Lord of War maybe a decent movie
but I won't spend a second of my time watching any of his movies. He is a Liberal POS.

I'll spend my time at my weekly "handgun & hard liqour" nightspot.

I was kind of disapointed, way to serious, I was expecting something more light. It went from "Air America" to "Blow".

But overall good movie.

i liked it - the liberal agend. that was confirmed without a doubt by the guy from the u.n. in the special feature part on 2nd disc. they are also incorrect with quite a few weapon specs. on 2nd disc.

I have to say it but I'm an ak guy all the way .....and ..ah.......I had wood for half of the movie

I saw it in the theatre and really enjoyed it. Then all the mixed liberal messages were going through my head as I walked out of the theatre and realized what they were portraying . I just ignored the messages and just enjoyed the good parts of it.

I rented the DVD and watched it tonight. I like how they portray the durability of the AK. It makes me want to go out and buy another one or two.

No matter what your position is on guns, I think anyone who likes action movies will like the movie.

All those AK's in that armory in the Ukraine were bought for the production of the movie, 3000 live AK's were bought because it was cheaper to buy real ones then to have props made up. Inturn they sold them back to the arms dealer at a loss. Watch the making of the movie, the director talked about it. Good thing they didnt hire me for some part of the production, they would have been missing a few sets of wood thats forsure

all the would have gotten was a pile of striped down and choped up recivers,....but i would have
3000 premo parts kits to sell of over the years

i thought it was a pretty good movie,..if you can completely block out all the B.S. but hey,... thats in every movie hollywood puts out,...fuckers.

anyone take a good look at that gold AK?,...looks like it was a saiga conversion with a really odd barrel assembly.

probally a airsoft gun painted gold.

+1,but thats alot of the "Allure",the movie came pretty close to portraying the rise of the "Kalashnikov Culture".The harsh reality is,there's not a damn thing pretty about war.

Lots of AK porn. I was intrigued for the first hour then got really bored with it. It was S L O W moving. I turned it off. I rarely turn movies off. Even with all of the ak's I give it 1 and 1/2 stars.

For Hollyweird, it was a good mix of fun and harsh reality. As for the plot pace, Sam Adams and a series of burritos made for an excellent supporting cast

Now that 28 Days Later that I also rented last week turned into backround fodder between turns at the dart board..

I just like the Ode to the AK part where he describes the weapon as it's on display on the screen rotating...

oh and the introduction rolling during the opening credits is one of the coolest I've seen in a movie.

I like that movie as well. The Tank crew had AKM underfolders, not sure how accurate that is. A good movie none the less.

I've been wondering since I saw it, is that correct about the plywood?

And what the hell is up with the ammo factory at the beginning?
Is that really how they form brass?
And I'd be pissed if I got cartridges with no primer or powder.
It was like the slo-mo of the bullet in "Paycheck," when they showed the tail of the bullet in flight, and it had a primer in it.

It's an over-simplification, but not too bad. There's a bunch of steps missing, but you get the general idea. The brass is pushed in several small stages to gradually form the cartridge, not just all in one big punch. Makes it stronger.

But it's a great movie opening for sure.

Well I haven't seen the movie yet, ( this weekend), but as a side note to Tempars comments, My teenage son is in a liberal class that is Disscussing africa right now. His ( touchy-feeley) teacher was talking about all of the great cultures in africa, and he asked" what great culutres, if you take away the ancient egyptians, 90% of the whole continent are living just above the Bronze age????" I had to hand it to him about making a good point. While I feel bad for the 10's of thousands slaughtered in tribal boodbaths every year, they are killing each other faster the gang mambers in LA. This class is telling him the reason that africa is the way it is , is because of the Whitemen exploiting africa. My point is, why is this diferent than any other place that europeans have exploited in the past????? chinese are not still killing each other in tribal warfare, niether are the Japanese, and if is the europeans, why are they not still doing it in europe( yugoslavia not withstanding) I agree with Templar, large groups of ignorant people, who don't see any hope for a better life, being controled by a few greedy people bent on destruction.

The AK47 didn't have a brake.

I don't have the DVD yet, but I'm sure it's the same one that rotates during the eulogy to the AK47, it was a Milled Type III from what I remember, could be wrong though.
