Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the difference between the 2 polymer Warsaw length butt-stocks. One is a takeoff from Russia, the other is made in the US.
Any real difference in the two, is one more beat up then the other?

Not to be a S.A. but the U.s. one will count as a compliance part.

of course it would..... and thank you for responding.

I've got samples of both the Russian and US made Kvar stocks.  I would recommend either stock, but they both have positives and negatives.

The US made Kvar stocks will have better aesthetics and the colors will be more even.  The metal hardware is very glossy, which will cause the buttstock to slide off your shoulder under recoil.  If you want to install a cleaning kit in the stock, you will need to sand some spots on the inside to avoid it getting stuck in the hole.  Counts toward 922r.

My two Russian stocks have a very hazy color on one side, but aesthetics may not matter to you.  The metal hardware is more dull and offers better shoulder traction.  The cleaning kits install smoothly as well.  Doesn't count toward 922r.

Hope that helps you make a decision.

Are the butt plate shape of either, the same? Or is one more flat then the other?

Thanks.

I have the Kvar NATO length as well as the folding poly russian ( ak 100 series   ) The Russian one seems to have a slightly more curvature surface then the Kvar

Just from eyeballing them, the Russian one looks slightly wider than the Kvar.  Otherwise the shape looks the same.

Thanks all for all input.

I'm trying to determine if I can fit the  Russian 100 series folding butt stock  recoil pad on a fixed stock poly.
Went back and forth about whether to have either my V-12 or/and S-12 030, folding or fixed. Either way I like the factory recoil pad and am going to try and make it work.

Either are fine. The Russians feel more durable, but have color variations. They both beat the shit out of a Tapco WARSAW

I think that pad you are referring to will fit most factory AK stocks.

The US made one is wider like earlier mentioned. May not fit the US made one.

I've got a Russian grenade launching recoil pad on my SGL-21 with KVAR us made poly furniture, fits great.

I'm going to help a bit the OP here. I have both stock, the Russian and US made. Yes. there is a difference from my experience. The Russian is more wider from the upper part where you rest your cheek giving a more comfort cheek weld. Being both polymer, the Russian is a little bit heavier giving a little more over all balance to the rifle.

Russian left. US right. see that the Russian is wider while the US made is more thinner.

I ordered the Russian., mostly with the idea that the recoil pad will have a better chance of fitting without much trouble, The recoil pad is Russian and screws onto the butt.
Cost $17 and some change to ship from Kvar

I ended up getting one that looks pretty rough on one side.
Kvar says they come that way.
Is there a way to smooth out the rough areas? Or should i return?  What do you guys think
