I just ordered the side folder from Tapco. They are $44.95 now, on sale. It is a no modification install, just drill two holes and go. It is going on my 2003 WASR-10 which is otherwise stock. Here is a link.

I hope you have better luck with yours than I had with my Romainan folder. Both of the screws were too long.

What do you mean the screws were too long? You should use the stock screws that came with your rifle, drill holes in the stock to match up with the holes in the tang and voila!

The wood screws that go into the wood stock don't work too well with the machine screw holes that are predrilled in the folder.

they folder requires two metric oval-head screws for installation.

the east german screws sometimes need shortened 1/64" so that the folding hinge clears them.

I used a dremel to shorten the one over the hinge it was a Romy tho...

Scottgull in the EE has the Tapco folders at a better price. Faster delivery than Tapco too.

If you really want that much length from Tapco, fine. Just don't want those giddy at bargain US folders to miss that detail.

No, he means the Romanian metal folder, not the Tapco synthetic folder.

There were some that got the Rommy folder that had screw issues. Mine were both the correct lenght, but one had no hole in the head for the allen wrench. Now Tapco is out of the stocks and the screws. So you'll have to hunt for replacements.
