I got a set of Ironwood stocks today. The metal bushing the grip screw sets in that I have out of the old thumbhole stock is to big to fit in the hole in the Ironwood grip. There looks to be a metal washer in the bottom of the grip. Is that enough to secure the grip screw against? Are there different diameter bushing out there. Thanks.

The washer should be enough from what it sounds you are saying.  That is what is at the bottom of all my pistol grips.
