Sorry if this has been asked... Been looking, but cant find it and am just wondering...

Will replacing the front top and bottom HG's with Ironwood designs be considered two US parts?

The front handguards count as 1 part upper and bottom.

That's right.  As far as furniture goes the HGs count as one, the PG counts as one and the buttstock counts as one.

You might findthis helpful when figuring out your configuration possibilities for 922(r) compliance.
