Thinner ,means more fragile, but has been done. Some find the centering effect of a round aperture rear to be very helpful (redstararms.com for the mojo microclick). The $90 4x24 is the easiest sure improvement in getting more out of the gun.
PS- a nice trigger for a cleaner shot release helps also |

I took a small file to mine, basically made it look an AR15 front sight post. I like it much better this way, its much easier to hit small targets. Next thing would be to get a peep sight from either Krebs or Red Star Arms. |

A peep sight (like Krebs) mounted at the rear of the top cover does wonders for sighting accuracy and quickness.
