I have a Milled Bulgarian Arsenal SA-93 that was converted to pistol grip configuration last year. I have put some cash into this AK since I can't do this type of work myself.

Since the end of AWB I have been throwing around the idea of putting on a under-folder and removing the brake and adding a bayonet lug. I want to know how much it would cost to put a under-folder on a milled receiver and remove the brake and I would assume probably refinsh it also?. Is it worth the cost?

I really want to replicate the Bulgarian 7.62 AR-M1F. I undestand that Arsenal is coming out with this exact rifle, the SAS M-7. I would imagine it probably would run close to $1000.00.

What do you all think. Opinions are needed!

I like it just the way it is.  How's the cheekweld with an underfolder stock anyway?

1) Historically correct 7.62x39 guns DO NOT have flash supressors. That break (slant-break) is the correct muzzle attachment...

2) Side folders are a far better folding stock than underfolders... And no reciever modification is required... Just bolt-on-and-go....

So, repair the threads on the muzzle, keep the slant-break, and put the appropriate-style sidefolder on it...

Keep it the way it is and save for the other one.

Ak-47 have a muzzle nut, not a slant comp.

Looks like the consensus is keep the full length stock. It would be cool to have a Bulgarian 7.62 AR-M1F.

I guess I'll just grab myself a Polish underfolder kit and make a run out to OOW (its good to be 45 minutes awayhave
When I converted the SA-93 over to pistol grip configuration I was going for a SSR-99P look that Arsenal USA and Gordon Tech used to make.

CAMPYBOB and TheRealSundance are correct the muzzle nut would be more appropriate on a milled receiver.

How about this:

get some milled Soviet wood from the 50's
put a muzzle nut on the AK
put a bayonet lug on
put the sling attachment on the receiver
hot blue the AK
get a slabside 30 rounder and

BAM

I have myself a 1950's AK-47 type III clone
