Appearantly in the northeastern part of the US the 5.45 supply is alive and well. Each show I got to- including the one last Saturday has cases of 5.45 imported in the US and called Green Tiger for either $110.00 per case (960 rounds) or $115.00 per case. I currently have approx 6300 rounds of 5.45 for the 4 AK74s that I own. I just cant believe how hard it is for the rest of you guys to find this stuff.
I am a horder by nature and will contine to buy a case of two of this stuff at every show I attend. I wont stop till I hit atleast 10k of 5.45!  The next show is 2/8/06

I just got the latest midway catalog and its got the wolf 545 for $120 a case, but hell its probably on BO status

sorry DW- you need to remember that Mass residents cannot get ammo shipped to them- if they could I would have ordered a shit load from SG a long time ago.. what I got I am holding on to..

 No problem here either....Sitting on about 3K right now. Had 4 x 750 blocks at the shop for a long time.... down to 2 now. They have been there since September '05. If nobody buys it ill just take it home with me...  KyARGuy |

I got lucky and found 1200 rds of 5.45 Barnaul FMJ at one of my local gunshops.here
I hope this shortage ends soon..... |

sorry- I meant to say it was GOLDEN TIGER- not green tiger.. (but the box it green)
It is imported by Star Vector Arms out of NH which might explain why it is available around here for relatively small coin. |

Well, at least that was the case until this past weekend. The ammo dealer at the Marlboro show sold out of both 5.45 & 7.62 very early on Saturday. I usually pick up at least a case of each at each show, this was the first time I went away empty handed. Fortunately, I already have several cases of each. PS the next show is 2/18/06 not 02/08/06 |

Wish we had some Golden Tiger around here.
 . I got a case of Silver Bear, but I've begun shooting it up because it doesn't age well. The zinc corrodes.

Remember all of that 7.62x39 brassed cased mystery ammo, that came in vinyl battle packs packed inside a wooden crate. Well , I still have a ton of it just collecting dust. LOL, LOL, LOL

I've got 40 rounds of Silver Bear Nipple Point... 20 in a Ruger Mini-30 mag and 20 in a box. I have not noticed corrosion, but even if they did, the Nipple Point is supposed to fragment and damage extremely well so I still use it.
Somewhere between 1,500-2,000 rounds 7.62x39mm here, for my Ruger Mini-30, two SKSs and a Polytech AK-47. |

Maxx- I got there early and picked up a NIB SLR105 and a case of this ammo- He sold the 5.45 cases really quick- I am getting another 2k rounds on the 18th in Wilmington...

Ok- this first shot shows ALL my 5.45:
2.5 cases of Wolf HP (1000 rounds per case) 3 cases on Golden Tiger (960 rounds per case) 1 case of Barnual (750 rounds)  Here are close up pics of the Golden Tiger stuff- 2 of the cases I got for 110.00 and the last one on the concrete floor was $115.00 out the door....

I've been to every gun shop in my area......They don't even carry it. Two shop owners said, "your the first person I've ever had ask for it." I waiting on the SG fairy to bring it to me.
Anyone up for a midnight raid to Mass. ?

OK, you got me beat, but not by much.  I've got 3 sealed cases of 5.45 golden tiger and 1 about 1/2 full. In 7.62 I've got 4 full cases of wolf and a bunch of loose stuff. It's funny that I'm usually in line before the doors open, but last week I didn't get there until noon. They have always had plenty, wouldn't you know it, the first time I get there late, they sell out. Hopefully they will have more at Wilmington, but I'm not taking any chances this time, I'll be one of the early birds, like I normally am. |

Maxxx- I got there for 9am and the line was a couple hundred feet out the door!!! BUt it was worth it cause the 5.45 went really quick.
I am getting to WIlingmington early too- hopefully you and I dont end up trying to grab the last case of this shit. Of course there is always the March show at the Big E I also have more ammo- I have 1500 rounds of Wolf .223 and approx 2000 rounds of golden tiger 7.62. I hardly shoot the .223 though.. I did see guys selling .223 at Marlboro for $130 a case.. I would have bought more had I not just bought an SLR105 in at the same time. I walked out of there with the SLR and a case of 5.45 with the biggest shit-grin on my face! LOL |
