Howdy, new to this board, and I like my ak's.
Here is a picture of my Romanian ak-47, it has k-var exstended synntthedic stock, and k-var forend pistol grip. Russian scope sided mounted scope mount, sporting a Millet 4x32 & has heavey plex cross hairs. Romanina slant brake, quick mag release , also a quick safty lever, new trigger group. It has been 100% reliable with FMJ & H-P's, all 20 mags fit a function perfectly.  Now lets see and hear about your's. TG

Is that the original handguard that came with the kit? If so, how the hell did you get it looking so nice???

...no, that is a set of Ironwood Laminated Bulgy handguards, finished in the patented RotDorn Faux Russian Iodine finish. 6 coats of color, and 2 of a matte clear, hand rubbed between each coat.

This picture is about two months old, SAR1 at the bottom with a Cobra red dot sight, SAR2 on top with a Illuminated scope.
They both are awesome rifles. Welcome to this board. BR

My 2003 SAR-1 with AK-74 style muzzle brake installed.
I also rubbed out the wood by using 320/400 grit stearated sandpaper to take off the sheen and flatten the finish, followed by 0000 steel wool. Gives a nice finish similar to an "oil" finish.  [/

Just added a red dot sight, to my ak.
