Are these just for plinking or maybe varmit hunters? In terms of leathality they cant be better then FMJ with the hollow cavity.

Seems hard to find Barnaul in FMJ though Ive see it in HP & SP.

I have used both Barnaul hollow points and and soft points in my Sar-2. I dug a hollow point out of a tree I had shot and the hollow point had not expanded at all. The soft points do seem to open up a little. Accuracy with the soft points is erratic. I will be able to get 2-3 MOA for about 5 shots and then there will be a flier. I mean way off target. I think it is because the Barnaul 55 grain bullet is so much shorter than the FMJ bullet the chamber was designed to use.
