They're fun..Get a glass bottle and put a little gas in it , shake and recap..Then shoot it..Talk about incendiary.

Not really..I bought about 45 round's a few years back for practically nothing and have just used em messing around..I did shoot an ole microwave with a couple..They are just a novilty really IMO....

Seen some in other calibers, nice red splat where you shot, without the "I'm right here" marks from tracers. UNless AP incendiary like some neato .50 rounds, not worth $2 a bullet to me.

A guy at the range shoots propane tanks 1lb size with them but although he does it with .50 cal and it really lites them up.
Wonder if .30 would do the same? |

The blue tip works well but you have to shoot metal or solid rock as dirt,gravel,wood,etc... they don't go off. The yellow tip is better as it throws off more/larger sprarks due to the larger magnisum flakes added to the incendary formula.

so the blue marking on the round is what causes it to ignite?

blue doesn't make it incindierary any more than black paint makes it pierce armor or red makes it trace throught the air. Like a good woman , it's what's on the inside that counts

What causes it to ignite is the incendary compound in the nose of the bullet jacket being compressed between the solid target and the lead core on impact.
