This is really not a big deal.  Given enough use , both the mags and the mag catch will wear in to a smooth fit and release. OR - you can gently use a file and just "break" the edges of the stud on the magazines - and do the same on the edge of the mag catch. |

So this is nothing to worry about even though the rifle has seen over 1000rds from the previous owner? Or is it more of an issue that the magazines just haven't seen enough use?

I have 6 mags for my sar-1 only 2 of them do the same thing you are experiencing so i have to assume that it is an issue of the mags not having enough use.

Ive only got 3 mags but the one that looks to be a poly synthetic with metal top has a hell of a time getting in and coming back out but the other 2 metal ones work perfect. Might just be the brand?

The previous owner put 1K through the rifle and never fixed the problem?
I had this problem with a Romy G I built. Use a small fine file on the magazine catch and check the fit with all your magazines every few strokes. Only remove enough metal so that all of your magazines work smoothly. |

i had to break out the file for some of my mags for my G build and my SAR. the bulgy mags circle 10 mags i have needed the fitting the most. i used cold blue to track where it was dragging as i filed on the mags.
