Was shopping (slumming??) at Wal-Mart in Reno yesterday.  I was looking for some bathroom tile cleaner, and I saw one of the employees in the bath towel isle.  I approached her and asked about tile cleaner for bathrooms.  She spoke very broken English, and I picked up on the accent.  She also had that pasty-white corpse-like skin that only Europeans have, super-blue eyes, and her name had a K where a C should have been:  "Angelika."  So I asked her where she was from?  "Poland."  All I could think was "AK-47!"  But I didn't want to scare her, so I asked her what "Tantal" meant?  She looked at me like I was nuts.  So next, I tried "GROM."  She understood that right away and said it was a "Special Department of the Army," and that somebody she knew (I couldn't understand??) was in the Army.  I was amazed.  I had broken down an international language barrier!!!

Well, we got to talking and I found out she spoke Spanish somewhat.  Since Spanish was basically my first language, I had no problems communicating with her after that.  She is an exchange student and is studying Hotel and Restaurant management at UNR.  So there I was, talking Spanish to a Polish chick at a Wal-Mart in Reno Nevada!!!  I should have asked her if she could field-strip an AK!!!

After I left the store, I wondered "Who the HELL would want to exchange and go to Poland to go to school?"

My Spanish teacher in highschool was from Viet Nam so I learned to speak broken Spanish with a Viet Namese accent.I passed the class but the knowledge has proven to be quite useless.

No-no digits, and I'm sure she has PLENTY of dudes chasing her,  (She was VERY attractive-if you like that dead corpse look-I prefer Brown chicks myself) and I don't  really need my dick cut off at this point in my life!!  (My wife is from Puerto Rico and she was a few isles over!)

As I think back on it though, I tried several times to cut out  of the conversation (I didn't want her to think I was trying to score with her-and I was scared for the both of us that ole' Fireball (Puerto Rican Dynamite) would come around the corner at any moment) but she just kept on talking and asking me questions.  Hmmmmmm. . . . . . . . .

I am from Vegas, so I am not sure-There's a SAM's Club gas station in the parking lot if that helps, and we ate at a Boston Market that was in the general vicinity.  I also got some football cleats for my son at a sporting goods store called "Garth's" which was also in the general area.  Does that help??   Seek her out and confirm my story!!!!  She's hard to miss-very pretty in a corpsey sort of way.

Sounds like the south Reno Wal-mart...that end of town is where the majority of the large stores are congregated...the Atlantis hotel casino is in sight of that Wal-mart. If it was a supercenter, that was the one (the only Wal-Mart Supercenter in Reno).

Why not??? I'd do it for the experience.  My question would be, who'd want to go to Reno?

You guys need to get out more......

Eastern European womem make great wives. Better then 95% of the American women out there. Chances are, this Polish girl wont make it home either. She will end up married to some American. I have seen it before. My wife (Eastern European) has known a few girls that go to the US for the summer to work or whatever. Most never come back. They end up getting married, or finding a guy to get married with.

Poland and the former east bloc would be cool to go to. Not only would there be lot's of hot chicks, a dollar would go a lot futher too. Some poor college student who took $500.00 with him would be the man over there.

Prices have gone up there allot in the last few years...   Most of the tourist support stuff (hotels, restaurants, etc) have matched, or even surpassed Western European prices. But, the local's income has not.

As far as going to school there.....Can't say if it's anything like Russian schools but while our kids are taking self-esteem classes, they are required to take upper level math courses....explains why even a Russian hooker has a medical or engineering degree....

Our local high school had a girl from the Ukraine as an exchange student last year. I didn't meet her until just before she left for home. Sure wish I could have met her sooner.

I wouldn't mind a nice eastern-european lady. A non-babushka lady, that is.

My first spanish class had a crazy (or at least senile) old Cuban lady for a teacher. I was the only person there who didn't speak spanish as a first language. Well, the Czech girl didn't speak it as a first language, but she was fluent enough that she might as well have.

Most of the class was spent with the crazy lady telling stories about her grown son. Everyone else chatted in spanish (one lady was from Spain, one girl was from Czechoslavakia, and the rest were from Mexico) and I sort of sat there, totally clueless, and not learning anything.

I ended up dropping the class and taking it again with an actual teacher before I passed it. I took spanish II in my college, didn't like my grade (low C) and took it again. Made the exact same grade.

Now I'm supposed to take Spanish III this semester and I don't remember a fricking thing from my spanish II class. *sigh*

Believe me-if I try to go back and get a number, there won't be a rest of my life!!!  That's for somebody else to do!!!  She's VERY nice, and very intelligent.

And you're right about GROM.  At first, she pointed up when I said the word, but I made a gun with my thumb and index finger-and that is when she told me it was military.

I had an assistant from Kazakhstan acouple years back. She could field strip an AK blind folded, said it was part of their grade school training! In addition to that she told me that she held her school record for unloading a magazine. (not by pulling the trigger)  I had never seen it done this way, she would "thumb out" the first round, then use the tip against the rim of the round to scoot it out of the mag. She was quick! I also had her translate some manuals and such from Russian to English, she actually enjoyed doing it, it kept her skills up.

This year on vacation in Destin, FL everywhere you looked from the Krispy Kreme doughnut store to the life guards was Russian! All the "summer help", that used to be American college kids. I asked a security guard, and was told that the American kids wouldn't work any more, so all the Resturants got together hired the Russians thru various colleges thru out the country. The have a small community off the beach for them, and every day they bus them in. The guy said they worked their ass off, then the bus takes them back.  In the fall they return to their Universities. I watched them from that point on, they were working their asses off!

ocean city is the same way,..all eastern european kids that bust there ass,..and if i am ever single again im moving to easter europe for a few years just for the chicks

Amen brother.  If there's one thing porn has taught me, it's that I need to get to eastern Europe!  I'm in the same boat as Stink though, so I'll have to get my wife and kids to agree to the endeavor:)

take care,

We had a conference at Lake Tahoe in 2000 and the resort we were staying at was fully stocked by visiting Eastern bloc students who were like exchange types I guess...learning the hotel/restaurant business.  For some reason they seem to like Nevada...ran into alot of them there that week. Many were babes.

Probably should have asked her bud.  That common market in Warsaw is about as great an AK gunbuyers heaven as I have ever seen.

I travel in Poland.  It is actually one of the few places in Europe where Americans are actually very much liked and sought out.  People go out of their way to talk to you and often mention how they see us as a major part of them winning their freedom.  Talking to Poles one relearns how important freedom is and to not take it for granted.  These people know and appreciate what was lost and won.

Jing Dobry!
