This question wasn't getting a lot of action in the SKS forum, so I'm moving it here.

CTD has a replacement gas tube with an accessory rail mount built in.
Do you think this is a good way to go for a scope set up?
It puts the scope considerably further away from your face than a top cover mount would. Would that require a specific kind of scope?

Does anybody use one of these on a SKS?

After doing some more research, I can see why nobody uses this set up.
