Am I correct that the VEPR barrels are not threaded and that the flash hider and muzzle brakes are held on by three set screws?  Does anyone know if you order the rifle with the muzzle brake if they will drill small detents on the barrel for the set screws to hold on to?  Lastly, I understand that the VEPR barrels are heavier than a standard 7.62 AK barrel...has anyone had a gunsmith thread the end of the barrel and screw on some other muzzle brake or flash hider?  If so, what kind of brake/hider did you use?

Thanks!

Vepr barrel is not threaded, you are correct here.  I think the dents for the set screws are a safe assumption.

Veprs are not threaded. There are detents drilled into the barrel to hold the set screws. The brakes are rock solid. If you decided to have the barrel threaded you will first have to have it turned down. The barrel is .62" instead of .5".
