Campybob (from the thread on building an AK from ekg98) indicated that you could use oversized (long) rivets to blind rivet the receiver to the trunion. I'd like to try that on my first AK build.  But, I have no idea what the factory length is of the rivets.  I can measure from the side of the trunion to the o.d. of the barrel, calculate what the accepted length of the shaft should be to create the rivet head (assuming that the rivet head stops at the barrel), and come up with a length that is pretty close. But, I'd love to know what the factory length of the rivets is so I can check my SWAG.  Could someone perhaps post it somewhere?

Thanks

Why dont we use blind rivets anyways?  They would be just as strong!  Easier to install also!
