Hi!
Does anyone have a euro 7.62X39 barrel they don't need? AND cheap? I don't need the fixtures on the barrel. And I would like the barrel in good shape, though the chamber can be eroded. It's gonna be used in a 7.62X25mm conversion, with a chamber adaptor, and suomi drum.

Sorry that I do not have a barrel for you to utilize, but would like to hear more about your idea that you are attempting.

Please share if you would like, or wait until you are finished if you want to be the first kid on the block with one.

Would particularly like to hear your thoughts and ideas on the chamber adaptor.

Personally, I think you're better off ordering a .30 cal barrel blank from Numrich (.308), a 7.63 Mauser chambering reamer from Clymer, and turning the barrel yourself...I believe the 7.62 AK barrel bore dimensions are too big for the Tokarev/Mauser/Luger cartridge...

All comblock 30 cals are .310 as far as I have been able to findout.

One option could be going to a .303 SMLE, Enfield or 7.65 Mauser barrel, if re-profiling and re-chambering the barrel is no big deal.

Those are all rifle calibers. The 7.62x25 is a pistol cartridge, which is what the Suomi drum uses (pistol cartridge, that is). The 7.63 Tokarev/Mauser/Luger all use a ~.308 bullet. You don't want that tumbling down a .313, .312, or .311 barrel...

On a related note, I could never find 7.63 Mauser ammo for my Broomhandle...So I reloaded cut-down .223 AR-15 brass * with drilled-out M1 carbine round-nose FMJ's, and shot those. I still have a stripper clip of them here somewhere...

30 Mauser and 30 tok are same cartrige. 30 Luger is different. Groove dia. of 30 Mauser and Tok are both .310-.311 nom. 30 Luger nom. .308-.310 depending on how wore the rifling tools were.
