I'm looking to turn a kit into a gun and I was wondering what everyones opionions were about the recievers out there.  For just turning a basic romy kit into a gun what would be the easiest and sturdiest reciever to use?

I've had good luck with Ohio Ordnance and they're readily available.  Everyone says Global Trades are the best, but you'll probably have to wait in line to get one (i.e., months).

I highly recommend Global Trades if you can get one.

The Ohio Ordinance receivers looked ok.  Is there something special about the Ewbanks receivers that should make me hold out for that one over the OO one?

They are real easy to work with.  And you don't have to wait 2 months for delivery.  The fact that DPH is out should tell you something.

I will prep my kit and wait for them to get in stock.  Thanks for the input.

i know im gonna catch shit for this but
i gotta say it never did know when to keep my mouth shut

i think the ewbanks rec's are total crap if im buying a 100% rec i want a 100% rec
not a bent flat that needs alot of work

most rec's have been backorderd so people are getting the ewbanks
its not from being good rec's its from lack of other options

Well I partialy agree,
It still needs some work(mag well & rail filed down,) but if a new builder like myself can build off a Ewbanks anyone can.

Plus I like their dimples, and it being only $50 and the fact that I dont have to wait 2 months to get one.

Really I like them because im to lazy to drill the trunion holes.

My build

Not to shabby for a piece ole shit receiver huh???

Yep, I gotta agree with freefall. I have built on all three of the above mentioned receivers. The globals are nice, so are the OOW's, but there is nothing really "wrong" with the ewbanks. They are available, cheaper, and they work. If you are just building a romy, go for it. I probably wouldn't use a Ewbanks on a krink kit though. I would hold out for a Global.

I would get an undrilled rec and drill your own holes though.
