I honestly know nothing about the SKS as I recently got into firearms and only have pistols so far. However, a friend of mine claimed one can easily modify an SKS variant for full auto fire. Im skeptical about this and wanted to find out from people that actually know what they are talking about?

Any truth to this or is he mistaken?

He is mistaken, and a dumbass.
Don't attempt it - if the wonderful professionals over at ATF find out, your house will be burned down, your wife groped, and your dog shot.
No new full autos since 19 May 1986.

Now, theoretically, you might be able to make a full auto trigger group for the SKS, much like John Norrel did with the Ruger 10/22.
But what would be the point, even if it was legal?
10 rounds of full auto would be gone pretty quick.

its not that I would even try it, I just wanted to know the ease in which it could be done. He claims it is easy and I would disagree.
