I know you guys are probably getting tired of these questions, but I've got one that I haven't seen here on the forum or I couldn't find a reference to in with the search (does the search function even work?)

Anyway, I have an AMD65 kit and I am wondering if I remove the front handguards and make my own from a blank piece of wood (I have pretty good experience with gun stocks and woodworking) would that count as a US made part?

Yes, as long as there are no furrin parts to the handguard other than the retaining clips at each end.

Front pistol grip, metal grate and blank tube/missing upper handguard add up to 1 part for the atf.
