There's alotta info on the Ciener website, but I was wondering if anyone here had experience with these kits.
So I did a forum search, but nothing came up for the past 30 days  wonk-wah.Some questions: When it says "blowback operation", does that mean the gas tube is or is not functional? I heard .22s really gum up a gas tube. If this is the case, would it be hard to modify the gas tube out of the equation? Does it matter if the AK receiver is milled or stamped? Do some AK receivers not accept double stack magazines and is this a factor for the kit? Does it work in some AK models better than others? I should have known that getting a rimfire AR would only lead to wanting an AK-22

you'll hear good and bad about how ciener's stuff works. personally, i wouldn't have any of it as a gift.
instead of a hundred dollar toy, i just bought a romanian training rifle ak in .22 long rifle calibre. sog has them for 3 bones. if that's to rich for your blood, the armi-jaeger italian imports can be had for $200 and up if you shop around. i love rimfires, but i have a very low opinion of ciener's products based on what i've seen at the range. his kit is supposed to work in all high capacity ak's. i've seen it work in some and jam in others. |
