Has anyone ever ordered one of these from Poly Technologies? I have a MAK90 that I am going to put this furniture on, but I am particular about the wood being the color as advertised and the checkered grip. I emailed the company, but have yet to hear back from them.

Thanks for all of your help.

Are you looking to be 922 compliant?  The reason I ask is that it seems like most people go with American made stocks.

Just a heads up to make sure your parts count balances out.

Is your receiver a straight cut or slant cut back?

It makes a difference!

It's a straight cut receiver. It currently has synthetic furniture on it, but I'd rather it be a blonde.

Tell them to shoot a pic of the actual set they intend to send you. $140 seems pretty high for Chinese wood.

i was just browsed thru the chinese pic thread and noticed that .
so the flat back can use a pistol grip and buttstock but a slant back can only use thumbhole type stock ? is that correct ?

From what I can see, yes. I have heard of people trying to machine out the slant back, but I am not sure how successful they were. The only "issue" is that my mak90 receiver is 1.6mm as opposed to the standard 1.0mm thickness. Other than that, everything attached to the rifle with no problems except for slight sanding on the buttstock.

Slant back needs a custom made stock like an Ironwood.

And I would expect pics before I laid out $140 for a $20 stock

I purchased a buttstock from them last month. It's a blond color stock. It's not the common orange blond stock. I had to strip the finish from the upper and lower handguard and match it to the wood. It fit like a glove on my straight cut.

It will look and work great. I ordered one about a month back. It is actually the stock set that goes on the preban AKS 762 Spike Bayo rifle, so it will have the bayonet cut out in the lower handguard. They are the blonde color that you see on all preban AKS rifles.

Not correct. A Slant cut receiver can use any normal butt stock.   There will be a slight gap but it will lock up just fine.

Do you have a pic of that?

Found a pic of a Yugo. Does the Chinese receiver match the gap or is it different?

I cannot get a pic with a wood stock anymore as I have gone with an internal ace block on my Mak.  Definetly different then the Yugo pictured above.  the Ace block makes the gap look a little bigger then a standard wood stock does but you get the picture.  I have had chinese wood, bulgy wood, chinese penolic, tapco t-6, and finally the ace blcok all in my slant cut mak.  Never been an issue and I am not ginger with this rifle.

Damn! And after all the caterwaulin' about slant receivers. I've never had one to worry about, so I had no idea. Thanks!

I Troll this forum just to point this out to people.  I see it all the time.  The slant cut is only a cosmetic hinderance.

So is there anywhere besides Ironwood to get stocks for a slant cut?

Ironwood is the only company making stocks that fill the gap.  you can always make your own, I did long ago and it came out pretty good.
