I recently purchased a 75 round drum. I have read the instructions on how to disaseemble it, but I can not get it apart. Is there a trick? I have turned the spring key counterclockwise and I can not get it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I was wondering this same thing.

Why do you want to take it apart?

It would make it easier to clean the inside bottom of the drum.

The reason I would like to take it apart is to pound out a dent in the body of the drum. I can not get to it with the "spindle" in place.

The instructinos say to push down the plunger while holding the feedwheel in place and unscrewing the turn key, then pull the feed wheel out. In my experience the turn key will only turn so far like and doesnt unscrew. Somebody on here has to know something.

That is exactly the problem I am having, I have turned the wing nut thing counterclockwise till it stopped. I can not pull it out or twist any further. I have gently tapped in a counterclockwise manner with a hammer and punch and have gotten nowhere. I thought for sure someone in here would have taken theirs apart.
