Let us know what you think. This is our SAW M249 style grip made to fit an AK. If the response is positive then we will start selling these shortly. Please reply and let us know.

looks good
Link Posted: 7/23/2003 11:43:06 AM EDT
Is the new grip US made so it can count as a US part ??
Link Posted: 7/23/2003 12:05:24 PM EDT
Look over here for some other iterations of it.

I still want to know how much.

It looks good. U.S. made? Cost?

Looks like they modified their SAW FAL grip... like the selector cut out .
Link Posted: 7/23/2003 3:22:58 PM EDT
I normally don't like non-standard AK pistol grips, but that actually looks pretty good.

Size looks similar to a Yugo grips dimensions. I'd take a couple.
Link Posted: 7/23/2003 4:49:50 PM EDT
If the grip has storage capacity (batteries, etc.) I'd be real interested in a few.
Link Posted: 7/23/2003 6:00:53 PM EDT
I'm interested if the FAL style selector cut out is absent, and the storage compartment is retained.

I'm with you Frater Rottie

I'm in if you keep the price down, and make it in O.D. green also.

It's definitely not for me. But hey, who am I to condemn new U.S. made options for we AK folk? As mentioned previously, perhaps an OD green model would change my mind. I like the FAL and Galil grips that ACE offers. In fact I really like the Yugo grip and the standard Ergo grip, but nobody offers them in green.

-just another opinion.

edit: Tony, how about a pic with an AKM (SAR...) with a matching black stock instead of the Chicom with wood? Should make a dramatic difference. In fact, a 30 round mag would dramatically change the over-all appearance as well.

Doesn't take much to look better than an ergo grip though. Most look like some sort of marital aid (esp the CavArms AR15 ergo grip in their fruity colors).

What we really need is for somebody to start using red/brown plastic when making USA manufactured pistol grips. And USA mag followers & floorplates for the AK74 mags. That said, I would consider buying a grip like this.

Will the final version have the FAL selector cutout? If so, no thanks. If not, I'd be willing to try it out if the price is right.

First of all I want to thank you guys for your opinions. The grip is made in the USA so it will count towards your compliance parts. The storage space will be retained. I have to talk to Buddie about taking out the selector cut out portion (shouldn't be a problem). I am sure that we will make some in OD as well.

**I will see about putting that grip on some black furniture. Please keep the replies coming!!!

I bought one for my FAL.But its still in the shop being built. I don't expect it until Oct. But it felt pretty good griping it in my hand. I really like the storage space in the grip.Just a good added bonus use of avaliable space. Put a good price on them and I would think you would get some sells.Get rid of the selector cut out also IMO. Thanks for checking with us AK guys here.!!! Cheers WarDawg.

These grips should be available in a couple of weeks, no pricing just yet.

I wanted to post this pic to show you all the differences in angles.

Link Posted: 7/25/2003 5:51:20 PM EDT
But look at the FRONT of the grip. The SAW grip flares out toward the bottom, and the front of the grip actually has almost the same angle as the original AK

A different comparison:

Looks like they still have the selector cut-out... pity.
Link Posted: 8/6/2003 1:24:46 PM EDT
Kind of looks like the grip on the vepr series rifles. Much better than the orginal style grip.

Nice looking grip.

I like it A LOT!

It looks surprisingly natural on the AK.

lose the unneccessary selector cutout though.

Just got mine and bolted it on my Bulgy/ORF 74.

I hereby deem it a very good thing. The handling change is remarkable. Most people don't seem to appreciate just how much difference a proper pistol grip makes on an assault rifle; particularly when you're going fast: an odd thing inasmuch as most of us know better than to shoot a pistol with dorky ergonomics.

The combo of this grip and an RSA FCG completely transforms the high speed handling of an AK and drastically reduces time-on-target.

Does it look authentically commie? No. But then, if I want authentic I'll pull my Garand out of the safe and caress it and sing to it and...

Sorry. Got a little carried away there.

I am glad that you like the grip!!

**Want to let you all know that this special deal is still valid. Don't miss out.
