Just a thought...
We have Galil's again, how hard would it be to do the same thing with Valmets?  I mean make an American receiver and import parts from Finland, would it be a good idea or dumb?

Would have to get someone to crank out US made valmet barrels preferably (Chrome lined) and enough US compliance parts and a US made receiver, but yea it sounds possible , have to talk to someone with an importer licence and see if they have any connections in Finland  i wouldnt mind owning an american made valmet  so long as the price stayed under 1000$

From all reports, including sources in Finland, there are no Valmet parts to be had in quantity anywhere. Plus, as long as it took American manufacturers to make decent AK receivers, getting a good US made stamped Valmet type receiver would be a long time coming.Valmet stamped receivers are not made by simply folding a flat.

Being realistic is not being negative.

Are there Valmet tube stocks available anywhere?  There's a Valmet locally I've been looking at, but I really want the tube stock to complete the package.  Thanks.

There are literally no spare Valmet parts out there, much less kits.

If it's not made in Finland, it can never be a Valmet.

Save your money and buy the real thing at the market.

My first post in this forum so bear with me. Some of ya Valmet freaks might find this interesting:

I´m not sure how did this guy get those parts since production of these components has been stopped for awhile ago but I just thought this might help some of you.

Prices are decent, IMO.

First off, a valmet tube folder cannot be just added to a wood stock rifle. It is riveted on, but there is an aftermarket ace folder that fits.

Second, the reason to want a valmet is for the build quality and accuracy these rifles are known for. If you just want the "look" get a century galil.

Yeah, and any AR that isn't a Colt is a piece of shit.

I don't agree with your opinion, SKS_Lover.  There are several non-Colt AR15 manufacturers out there that put out high quality, mil-spec rifles.  I especially like the Knight's Armament rifles.  They don't carry the "Colt" moniker but, in my experience, they are fine rifles.

He was being sarcastic, I think.  The two of you share the same opinion.
