Anyone here into boating in saltwater enviornments? My father picked up two cans of this Formula 6-56 stuff. It's not like WD-40 (which I learned the hard way is very, very bad to leave on your guns)

I live in a salt-air enviornment, and have no gun safe to keep the evil moist, salt air away. This stuff says on the can it's a lubricant, free rusted parts, and protects against corrosion. He picked it up at a marine supply store, he needed some for various parts on his boat, as well as his fishing reels.

Anyone know if this stuff is good to leave on guns as a rust-preventative? My guess is yes, just want to make sure.
